Great workplaces don't happen by accident.
MGIS has worked hard to become one of the most recognized companies servicing the physician group marketplace. But we’ve worked just as hard to build a sought-after work environment, proud to be named one of the Best Places to Work by Business Insurance for six consecutive years and to be past recipient of the Utah Work/Life Award.
It’s no accident that MGIS has become one of the leading providers of insurance products to physician groups. We genuinely love what we do and have created a culture that fosters energy, creativity, and a passion for excellence. And it’s that winning culture that continues to attract the most motivated, goal-oriented, and growth-oriented individuals.
We support professional development.
If you want to expand your professional skill set, MGIS will support you. We give employees the opportunity to learn new skills and advance their career with training on specific product offerings and industry trends along with business and technical skills. In fact, more than half of our employees hold an insurance license and many have earned or are working toward professional designations, such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), and Disability Income Associate (DIA).
We have fun.
Our employees have a strong work ethic and a reputation for providing exceptional customer support. But don’t let our game face during working hours fool you. We’re also known to dress up on Halloween and dress down every Friday, take part in summer socials, host holiday gatherings, and throw impromptu pizza parties.
We make a difference.
We care about our communities, with employees volunteering their time and energy at the Utah Food Bank, People Helping People, The Road Home, the Himalayan Project, Now I Can Foundation, and Paint Your Heart Out.
Once onboard, you’ll enjoy a competitive benefits package that includes comprehensive health coverage, company paid and voluntary life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, long-term care coverage, plus critical illness and accident coverage. By taking a self-funded approach to our medical plan, we retain the flexibility to offer exceptional benefits to employees and their families complete with our unique focus on wellness and alternative treatment coverage.
Additional benefits include:
The PACE Program. We want everyone at MGIS to have a sense of company ownership. That’s why employees share in company profits through the Positive Action Creates Earnings (PACE) program. This has sparked recommendations by employees leading to the implementation of better and more efficient processes, saving MGIS thousands of dollars and thus increasing PACE payouts.
A Flexible Spending Account. Employees enjoy the convenience in using a flexible spending debit card rather than submitting manual reimbursement requests. Company-subsidized parking and transit expenses are also available through the flexible spending account.
Our 401(k) Plan. MGIS contributes a percentage of each employee’s paycheck into their 401(k) plan along with a generous company supplement. Our academic approach takes the guesswork out of retirement investment.
Identity Protection. We provide employees with identity protection services and coverage including the option to buy additional services and coverage for their family members at reduced rates.
Our Employee Assistance Program. Employees enjoy around-the-clock access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), offering professional, confidential support to those facing emotional stress, grief, anxiety, relationship or family conflict, addiction, depression, or job pressure. Through our EAP, employees can also get answers to legal questions to help in making the most informed decisions about divorce and family law matters, bankruptcy, debt resolution, tenant issues, civil lawsuits, and contracts.
Our program benefits go above and beyond the typical EAP, with financial experts able to answer tax questions or offer advice on things like how to save for college, how to pay off debt, and how to plan for retirement. Add this to assistance in finding a facility to provide compassionate daycare for an elderly parent or young child, guidance to employees who might have concerns as a new parent, and counseling on ways to best communicate with your children.
Our Time-off Benefits. Our Time-off Benefits. MGIS employees enjoy a flexible work schedule including compensation for up to six unused sick days at the end of each year. And employees earn the following in paid vacation accrued monthly:
- During their first four years of service, employees earn up to 12 days of paid vacation.
- During their fifth through ninth years, employees accrue 15 days of vacation per year.
- After their 10-year anniversary, employees enjoy 20 days of paid vacation per year.
